The Yonghe Memorial Hall for the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Expedition East


It is located in Dongzheng Village, Qiankunwan Township, and was built in 1972. It faces south on the north and covers 7,200 square meters, consisting of five themed exhibition halls, a temporary residence of Chairman Mao, and an incorruptness education base. Herein, Chairman Zedong Mao's great achievements are intensively, comprehensively, and detailedly displayed in 1936 (from February to May) when he led the Anti-Japanese vanguard of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army for expedition east to fight with Japanese invaders in Shanxi Province. It is one of  Shanxi patriotism education demonstration bases, one of Shanxi communist party history education bases, and one of Shanxi initial education demonstration bases for the communist party members. It is also one of the cultural relics protection sites at the provincial level.
