The Yujiazui Ferry is located in the west of Yujiazui Village, Qiankunwan Township. As one of the main ancient ferries on the east bank of the Yellow River, it coordinates each other with the distant Qingshuiguan Ferry in Yanchuan County, Shaanxi Province. With a wide terrain and gentle port, it is convenient for armies to assemble and thus, it is always a battleground for military strategists. From May 2 to 5, 1936, Chairman Zedong Mao led the East-Expedition Red Army troops to return west and went across the Yellow River from the ferry. The ferry was praised by a good saying that "It is so important as to decide the country’s fate. It helps the Red Army go cross the river, go back to the mountain, and keep the red regime.”
